Stoic Logic
The Hall of Clear Judgment
Logic teaches the traveller not merely how to think, but how to prevent a first impression from becoming an unquestioned reality.
Learn to examine what appears before deciding what deserves your assent.
Observe → Distinguish → Examine → Judge

The Six Phases
I · What Appears
What happens between a first impression and the moment we treat it as truth?
Recognise an impression before automatically turning it into judgment or action.
II · What You Add
How much of what you call reality did you supply yourself?
Identify what you add through interpretation, expectation, belief, and language.
III · The Moment of Assent
When exactly does an impression become your belief, and who decides?
Recognise the moment of assent and make a conscious response: assent, reject, or withhold.
IV · Reasoning and Examination
Does the conclusion actually follow, and does the evidence actually support it?
Test whether a conclusion follows and whether evidence justifies it.
V · Judgment Through Virtue
Is the judgment not only correct, but wise, just, courageous, and proportionate?
Test judgments and intended actions through all four virtues.
VI · Independent and Free Judgment
Can you now examine a complex situation alone, without the scaffolding?
Analyse a complex situation independently and choose a reasonable and virtuous action.

Phase VI · Final Assessment
The Chamber of Judgment
Opens when the six phases have been walked.
