Stoic Training · Part 4
Fear
Fear is an illusion that grows in your mind.
The Stoics did not promise a life without fear. They trained a mind that could act despite it. This training breaks that skill into five deliberate steps.

The training
1. Awareness
What can I control? What can I not control? Focus on what is yours.
2. Acceptance
Accept uncertainty as part of life. Resist nothing.
3. Resist the impulse
Fear screams for action. But not every impulse deserves attention. Pause. Breathe. Choose wisely.
4. Prepare, but do not worry
Do what you must. Leave the rest. You cannot predict everything.
5. Live bravely
Fear doesn't disappear by avoiding it, but by acting through it. Courage is action despite fear.
Mantra
Fear is not your enemy. It is your teacher. It teaches you where your limits are. Break them. And you are free.
